Neil Mortimer is a business manager for West Midlands Academic Health Science Network one of 15 AHSNs licensed by NHS England to bring together universities and NHS organisations to enable adoption of innovation at scale and pace.
Social care needs to be part of the innovation mix explains Neil Mortimer in an interview given at the ADASS Care Apps Showcase on March 7thof which WMAHSN were a key supporter. Health services and care services are often delivered in silos, he says, but for the citizen this is meaningless, hence the involvement of an NHS organisation in a programme pitched largely at social care commissioners.
These and many related issues will be centre stage again at Connected Local Government Live 2017 a festival of joined up thinking and events in central Birmingham on June 28 & 29
